Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of 13 Menachem*, in which you inform me of your state of health and of the opinion of the physicians. In such a case, one must follow the prescriptions of the specialists in this matter. There will be a consensus among at least two of them. You say that, subsequently, you will have to remain at rest for several months. This is very surprising, for in general, a much shorter period is sufficient. But perhaps you have not described precisely, in your letter, the condition from which you suffer and the treatment being proposed to you. Likewise, if your description is accurate, you will be able to maintain a normal conjugal life after the operation and treatment. It would be good, in this regard, to consult a Rav who rules in Halachah*.

You have the merit, as does your husband, of devoting yourselves to the education of Jewish children (note 1: The Rebbe mentions boys and girls). From what one hears, your students, thanks to the influence you exercise on them, are drawing closer to our Torah*, Torah* of life, and to its Mitzvos*, of which it is said: "You shall live by them" — a life filled with content and happy. All of this will protect you yourself, your husband, and your children, in all your needs, in the manner of Hashem*, Who acts "measure for measure" (note 2: In the manner in which one acts toward Him), but in greatly increased proportion. Thus, with calm and breadth of spirit, you will continue your fundamental mission, which consists of dispensing an education based on sacred values, in an ever-increasing manner. ברכה ושלום! במענה למכתבה מי"ג במנחם, בו כותבת אודות מצב בריאותה וחוות דעת הרופאים.

ובכגון דא יש לעשות כהוראת רופאים מומחים במקצוע, ע"י עכ"פ קונסיליום של שנים מהם. ומה שכותבת שתצטרך להיות במנוחה אח"ז כמה חדשים, לפלא גדול, כי ע"ד הרגיל מספיק זמן שלא בערך פחות מזה. ואולי לא תיארה במכתבה כדבעי המיחוש והטפול המוצע, ותמלא עד"ז בהזדמנות הבאה.

כן אם התאור שלה מתאים, גם לאחרי נתוח וטפול האמור - ממשיכים בחיי אישות נורמלים. וכדאי שתתייעץ עם רב מורה הוראה בהאמור.

וזכות התעסקותה, ביחד עם בעלה שי', בחינוך בני ובנות ישראל, אשר כפי הנשמע מתקרבים המחונכים-ות שלהם ע"י השפעתם לתורתנו תורת חיים ומצותי' עליהם נאמר וחי בהם, חיים מלאים וחיים של אושר, בודאי שתעמוד לה וכן לבעלה

ולילידיהם - שיחיו - בהמצטרך להם, ובמדתו של הקב"ה שהיא מדה כנגד מדה אלא שכמה פעמים ככה. ומתוך מנוחת הנפש והרחבת הדעת ימשיכו בעבודה הכי נעלית דחינוך עטה"ק ובאופן דמוסיף והולך.
