To the leaders of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* and of the professional schools, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letters whose date precedes this one.

A) You inform me of the details of the new building of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, at Kfar Chabad* (note 1: See, on this subject, Letter no. 6211). It seems to me that I have already written to you that in this matter, one must solicit, on location, the counsel of those who are in a position to formulate an opinion, while respecting the following principle: there must remain a possibility of enlarging and expanding the building. But, of course, from the very beginning of the construction, there is no reason to reduce its dimensions. In a pleasant manner, one can note that the Tzimtzum*, the contraction (note 2: Of the divine Light that is at the origin of creation) is the source of the element of rigor.

B) You tell me that changes have been requested of you in the leadership of the professional schools. Respond therefore, in my name, that the center of leadership of these schools is located with my secretariat. It is therefore to them that the one who formulates such a request must address himself, regardless of the body in whose name he speaks. I address to you my blessing for success in your sacred mission, to convey good and detailed news of your preparation, in the fitting manner, for the school year that will begin in a few days. You will prepare for it sufficiently early, in a full and complete manner.

We are approaching the month of Elul*, the month of mercy, when we say every day: "Hashem* is my Light and my Salvation." May Hashem* therefore grant that we very soon obtain the fulfillment of the allusion contained in this verse, as Rabbeinu Bechaye* explains, cited by the Tzemach Tzedek* in his commentary on the Tehilim*, at that reference — that is, the promise that the Third Temple would be rebuilt and that the Divine Presence would be revealed therein once again. It is in this regard that King David says: "Hashem* is my Light and my Salvation." With my blessing to convey good news of all this,

א) ובמ"ש אודות פרטי הבנין החדש דישיבת תו"ת אשר בכפר חב"ד צ כמדומה כבר כתבתי, שעל כזה צ צריך להתייעץ על אתר עם היודעים בדבר, ולשמור על הנקודה צ שתהי' אפשריות להגדיל ולהרחיב, אף שכמובן גם בתחלת הבני' אין צריך להיות צמצום. וע"ד הצחות, הרי ידוע אשר צמצום הוא שרש הדינים. ב) במ"ש להם דרישות ע"ד שינוים בהנהלת בתי ספר למלאכה צ תענו בשמי, אשר מרכז הנהלת בתי ספר למלאכה נמצא כאן בהמזכירות שלי, ומי שרוצה לדרוש מה באיזה תוקף שיהי' צ עליו לפנות להמזכירות כאן.

בברכת הצלחה בעבודתם בקדש, ולבשו"ט ומפורטות מהכנה ככל הדרוש לזמן לימודים שמתחיל בעוד ימים ספורים, הכנה בעוד מועד והכנה במילואה.

והרי מתקרבים אנו לחדש אלול, הוא חדש הרחמים, בו כאו"א אומר בכל יום ה' אורי וישעי וגו'. ויהי רצון שבעגלא דידן נזכה לקיום רמז כתוב זה, ובלשון הבחיי (הובא מכ"ק אדמו"ר הצ"צ בפירושו על התהלים שם) שעל הבטחה דבנין בית השלישי וחזרת השכינה הוא שאמר דוד המלך ה' אורי וישעי.
