Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 6 Elul*, in which you write that Hashem* has granted you the merit and the success of studying at the Yeshivah* Toras Emes*, founded and directed by our holy masters. May Hashem* grant that you fully benefit from your lot, by studying there with ardor and constancy, by influencing your friends to join this Yeshivah* and to study in the same manner. You will also devote yourself to the spreading of the wellsprings. No doubt you are already doing this, after having consulted with the administration of the Yeshivah* and having received its approval, so that its organization not be disrupted. Success will multiply in this matter.

You ask me for advice regarding sadness. You will consult the holy Tanya*, at the references indicated in the index found at the end of the book. You also speak of your anxieties. It would be good to have your Tefillin* checked. You will also memorize chapter 41 of the holy Tanya*, from the beginning until "the King," on the following page. You will repeat this text, in thought or orally. You ask me how to concentrate your thoughts. The means of achieving this is to study from the text, to pray with a Siddur*. And even if you are memorizing or meditating, the book should nevertheless be open before you, at the page that is the subject of your study. With my blessing to convey good news, that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

שלום וברכה! במענה למכתבו מו' אלול, בו כותב מאשר זיכהו והצליחו השי"ת ללמוד בישיבת תורת אמת, מיסודה ובהנהלתה של כ"ק רבותינו נשיאינו, ויהי רצון שינצל חלקו בזה במילואו, ז.א. ללמוד בהתמדה ושקידה ולהשפיע גם על חבריו (שיכנסו לישיבה זו וילמדו באופן האמור) ובעסקנות בהפצת המעינות.

שבודאי עושה זה (לאחרי ההתייעצות עם הנהלת הישיבה וע"פ רשותם, באופן שלא לבלבל סדרי הישיבה), ותרבה בהצלחה בהאמור.

יעיין בספר תניא קדישא במקומות המצוינים במפתח הענינים בסופו.

מהנכון שיבדקו את התפילין שלו, וכן ילמוד בעל פה פרק מ"א בתניא קדישא מהתחלת הפרק עד לתיבת המלך בעמוד ב' ויחזור ע"ז במחשבה או גם בדבור.

ובמ"ש אודות רכוז המחשבה.

ידועה העצה בזה ללמוד מתוך הספר וכן להתפלל מתוך הסידור, וגם בשעה שלומד בעל פה או מעיין במחשבה, יהי' הספר פתוח לפניו במקום שלומד.
