Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6483 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem*,

19 Elul* 5718,

Greetings and blessings,

I am surprised that you tell me nothing of your efforts to spread the wellsprings in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt. I hope that for someone like you, it is unnecessary to comment at length on the verse: "It is Hashem* Who prepares the steps of man and He favors his way." According to one explanation, this way is the one mentioned in the verse: "They will keep the way of Hashem*, performing justice and righteousness." And, it is indeed a matter here of favoring this way, through the deep dimension of the will.

Everything therefore depends on the deep dimension — that of the soul and that of the Torah* — especially in these days, when: "I have asked one thing of Hashem*... Seek My face... Hashem*, I will seek Your face." May Hashem* grant that at least from now on, you assume this function with all the necessary enthusiasm, in order to complete everything that has not yet been accomplished until now. Indeed, the atmosphere of Eretz Yisrael* comes to one's aid, as does the auspicious character of these days. With my blessing to convey good news, that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

N.B.: For the spreading outward to be more effective, it would be good for you to contact the youth of the Chabad* association. You will tell them that you are ready to go to the places where it is necessary.

שלום וברכה! ו לפלא גדול שאינו מזכיר דבר ע"ד פעולתו בהפצת המעינות באה"ק ת"ו, כי תקותי שלדכוותי' אין צורך ביאור ארוך במ"ש מה' מצעדי גבר כוננו ודרכו יחפץ, שאחד הפירושים בזה שהדרך הוא כמ"ש ושמרו דרך ה' לעשות צדקה ומשפט, ויחפץ דוקא, חפץ שהוא פנימיות הרצון, שמזה מובן שתלוי הענין בפנימיות הענינים, סתים דנשמתא וסתים דאורייתא, ובפרט בימים אלו, דאחת שאלתי וגו' בקשו פני את פניך ה' אבקש, ויהי רצון שעכ"פ עתה יתעסק בזה במרץ הדרוש ובאופן למלאות מה שלא נעשה עד עתה, והרי אוירא דארץ ישראל והתעוררות ימים אלה, מסייע.
