By the grace of Hashem*,

To the leaders of the school based on sacred values,

Ohalei Torah*, of Brooklyn, New York, at their head,

the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav Michael (note 1: Rav M. Teitelbaum, of New York),

may Hashem* grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I learned, with pleasure, that you have concluded the acquisition of the building, which was placed at your disposal on this day. May Hashem* grant that it be at a good and fruitful time, fruitful in everything that concerns the school, in particular for the education of the students, in accordance with the will and the intention of our masters and leaders, whose merit will protect us. And may it develop, quantitatively and qualitatively, according to the terms of the verse: "And you shall spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south," until it becomes "an inheritance without limit," for, as the verse specifies: "the mouth of Hashem* has spoken" (note 2: The same letter was addressed to several schools).

The days of Elul*, the month of mercy, are auspicious for all of this, in particular the luminous date of 18 Elul*, that of the birth of the two great luminaries, the Baal Shem Tov* and the Alter Rebbe*. As is known, both of them gave of themselves for the education of Jewish children. And the days that precede and follow this date also possess its auspicious character. Being aware of this delivers a teaching and instills a force in all those who follow their path, who already do so or, at the very least, who will do so in the future, and will know success in this sacred mission — that of education based on the sacred values of our Torah*, Torah* of integrity, the revealed part of the Torah* and the teaching of Chassidus* alike, destined to form students, a progeny blessed of Hashem*, of whom one will be able to rightly say: "See the fruits of our action."

Great is the reward of all those who devote themselves to this, as can be deduced from the words of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, in the name of the Baal Shem Tov*, according to which the Holy One, blessed be He, loves every Jew and every Jewess far more than elderly parents love their only child, born when they were already of advanced age. One can conclude from this the satisfaction that is caused to Hashem* through this good education, in conformity with His Will. Addressing to you my blessing to convey good news of all this, I conclude by wishing you success and that each of you, with the members of his family, who will have long lives, be inscribed and sealed for a good year, materially and spiritually.

שלום וברכה! בנועם נודעתי מגמר רכישת הבנין, ואשר היום עבר לרשותם. ויהי רצון שיהי' בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, מוצלחת בכל עניני המוסד, ובעיקרו צ לחנך התלמידים מתאים לרצון וכוונת רבותינו נשיאינו זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ויהי רצון שילך הלוך והוסיף הן בכמות והן באיכות, עד שיהי' באופן דופרצת ימה וקדמה וצפונה ונגבה עד לנחלה בלי מצרים, שהרי כלשון הכתוב, פי ה' דבר.

והרי ימי חדש אלול, הוא חדש הרחמים, מסוגלים הם לכל האמור, וביחוד יום הבהיר צ ושלפניו ושלאחריו צ ח"י אלול, יום הולדת שני המאורות, הבעש"ט ורבנו הזקן, אשר מסרו נפשם על חינוך ילדי בני ישראל כידוע.

שהרי ההודעה עד"ז צ ודאי שהוראה היא וגם נתינת כח, לכל אלו ההולכים בעקבותיהם, ההולכים בהווה או עכ"פ ילכו מכאן ולהבא, שיצליחו בעבודה קדושה האמורה, חינוך על טהרת הקדש ע"פ תורתנו תורה תמימה, תורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות גם יחד, להקים תלמידים זרע ברך ה' אשר בצדק יאמר עליהם, ראו גידולים שגדלנו.

וגודל השכר של כל המתעסק בזה, הרי מובן מדברי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"Rר בשם הבעש"ט, אשר אהבת הקב"ה לכל אחד ואחת מבני ישראל, גדולה עוד יותר גם מאהבת הורים זקנים לבנם יחידם הנולד להם לעת זקנותם, ובמילא מובנת הנחת רוח הנגרמת להקב"ה ע"י חינוכם הטוב כרצונו ית'.

בברכה לבשו"ט בכל האמור, וחותם בברכת הצלחה וכתיבה וחתימה טובה לכאו"א וב"ב שליט"א בגו"ר,
