Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6540 — Faith & Bitachon

By the grace of Hashem*,

Blessings and greetings,

I was pleased to learn of the first meeting for this new year, which comes, for us and for all of Israel, for the good (note 1: This letter was addressed to several groups of Chabad* women and girls). May Hashem* grant that this beginning take place at a good time and that it introduce, with success and for the entire year, your action, which is of the highest importance. As our holy Torah*, Torah* of life, demands, "one knows elevation in the domain of holiness," and this will therefore be reflected in all the domains of your action. In fact, to develop and advance is indeed the sign of life.

May Hashem* grant that your action be accomplished without difficulties, that it be carried out in good health and with enthusiasm, for all the participants and the members of their families. According to the teaching of the Alter Rebbe*, one must live with the times (note 2: See Letter no. 6537), that is, with the Sidra* of the Torah* that is read during this week. I therefore conclude with a point from ours — the blessing that Hashem* granted to our father Avraham and, through him, to his children and grandchildren, that is, to all Jews, wherever they may be: "I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you shall be a blessing." Our Sages* specify the content of this blessing in the Midrash* Bereishis Rabbah*, chapter 39, paragraph 11. This blessing must have the effect of drawing close those who are distant, purifying them, and leading them toward our Father Who is in heaven. Of course, the essential meaning of this verse, its simplest interpretation, expresses the fact of being blessed in all one's needs at once, material and spiritual. With my blessing to convey good news of all that has just been said,

השם יתברך יעזור שההתחלה תהי׳ בשעה טובה ,ולהמשיך בהצלחה

בעבודה הכי חשובה במשך כל השנה,

ולפי דרישת תורתנו הקדושה תורת חיים ,באופן של מעלין בקודש,

לשגשג בעבודה בכל המובנים.

והרי זהו הסימן לחיות ,צמיחה ושגשוג.

והשם יתברך יעזור שהעבודה תמשיך ללא קשיים ,ותיןשה בבריאות

טובה ומצב־רוח טוב של כל אחת מהחברות וכל משפחתה -שיחיו.

על פי הוראת אדמו״ר הזקן ,שצריך לחיות עם הזמן ,עם הפרשה

בתורה שקוראים השבוע,

הנני חותם בענין מפרשת השבוע -הברכה שהשם יתברך נתן

לאברהם אבינו ועל ידו לבניו ובני בניו ,יהודים בכל מקום שהם:

ואברכה ואגדלה שמך והי׳ ברכה ,וכפי שרבותינו זכרונם לברכה

מבארים את התוכן של והי׳ ברכה ,לקרב את הרחוקים ,לטהרם ולקרבם

לאבינו שבשמים)בראשית רבה פרשה לט ,יא(.

וכמובן מאליו גם על פי העיקר ופשט הפסוק ,להיות מבורכים בכל

המצטרך בגשמיות וברוחניות.
