To the Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav Moshe (note 1: Rav M. Lahyani, of Marseille. See, on his subject, Letter no. 4009),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 2 Kislev*, month of miracles and of deliverance. I read with pleasure that a committee has been formed in order to strengthen and develop education, based on sacred values, of the children and youth who are near you.

May Hashem* grant that each member of this committee and, more generally, all those who fear Hashem*, act in this domain with self-sacrifice, commensurate with the importance and the value of this accomplishment, in an ever-increasing manner. Moreover, we are approaching the propitious days of 10 and 19 Kislev* — the liberation of Chassidus* and of everything that concerns it (note 2: Of the Mitteler Rebbe* and of the Alter Rebbe*) — then Chanukah*, showing that the light must be ever-increasing, that it is immutable, as the Ramban* emphasizes at the beginning of Parshas* Behaaloscha. This moment is therefore favorable for developing "the candle that is a Mitzvah* and the Torah* that is a light," as well as the luminaire of the Torah*, which is the teaching of Chassidus*. With my blessing to convey good news of all this,

במענה למכתבו מב' כסלו, חדש הנסים והגאולה.

נעם לי לקרות במכתבו, שנתיסדה ועדה שמטרתה לחזק ולהגדיל את החינוך על טהרת הקדש של הילדים והנוער, אשר בסביבתם.

ויהי רצון שכל חבר הועדה ובכלל כל היראים לדבר ה' אשר בסביבתם, יעבדו בהאמור במסירות נפש מתאים לגודל הענין וערכו ובאופן דמוסיף והולך דוקא, ובפרט שמתקרבים אנו לימי הסגולה יו"ד וי"ט כסלו, גאולת תורת החסידות וכל עניני' ולאחרי זה ימי חנוכה אשר ענינם הוספה באור הלוך והוסיף וקיימים לעולם (וכפירוש הרמב"ן ריש פרשת בהעלותך) שבודאי שעת הכושר הוא להוסיף בנר מצוה תורה אור ומאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות.
