To the directors of the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch network in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I have received here a remark from the Chassidim* of the Holy Land, according to which certain schools of the network, inasmuch as they are distant from the central points of the Holy Land, experience particular difficulties regarding everything concerned with the Shemittah*. It is therefore necessary and even indispensable that, from time to time, food be delivered to them by truck, without it being necessary for them to travel, to lose time, energy, and strength to secure their provisions, which must, furthermore, cost a great deal. All the details in this matter are not known here and it is therefore impossible to give precise instructions on this subject. However, on the whole, such a proposal is very judicious, for various reasons.

According to what these Chassidim* write me, it is not a matter of providing these provisions free of charge, but merely of relieving them of the constraint of procuring them and delivering them to a distant location. These orders can, moreover, be placed with wholesalers. You will tell me how matters stand. I thank you for this in advance. With my respects and my blessing,

נתקבל לכאן הערה מאנ"ש אשר באה"ק ת"ו, שכיון שאחדים מבתי ספר הרשת נמצאים בריחוק מקום ממקומות המרכזים באה"ק ת"ו, וישנם קישוים מיוחדים בקשר עם שנת השמיטה,

מהדרוש [ואפשר עוד יותר מדרישה], אשר מזמן לזמן יביאו להם מהאוכלין וכו' ע"י טנדר וכיו"ב ולא יוזקקו לנסוע משם ולבזבז זמן ומרץ וטרחה בהשגת המצרכים, שבודאי עולה גם ביוקר יותר. כיון שאין ידועים כאן פרטים עד"ז, לכן אין להורות על זה בפרטיות אבל בכללות ההצעה נכונה ביותר ומכמה טעמים.

כפי שכותבים הנ"ל אין הכונה שיתנו להם המצרכים חנם כ"א שהטרחה בהנוגע להשגת המאכלים וכו' והבאתם למקום הרחוק תעשה בסיטוניות, ובטח יודיעו עד"ז ות"ח מראש.
