By the grace of Hashem*,

12 Shevat* 5719,

Greetings and blessings,

According to various texts of our holy Torah*, every idea, particularly when it has a concrete impact, further reinforces the conviction that it will be fully realized (note 1: The purpose of this letter is therefore to reiterate in writing blessings that the Rebbe* had already given orally). This shows us the immense importance of the Mitzvos* that one applies in action, as was explained (note 2: By the Rebbe* himself at the Chassidic* farbrengen* of 10 Shevat*) in the Chassidic* discourse of the day of the Hilloula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel, on 10 Shevat*. This observation also justifies the fact that Hashem* commanded many prophets to perform a concrete action alluding to the content of their prophecy. Indeed, it is thereby more certain that it will be realized. Such is also the content of the following Mishnah* of Avos*, chapter 3, Mishnah* 15: "All depends on the intensity of the action." And you will see, in this regard, the commentary that the Rambam* gives on this Mishnah*.

Basing myself therefore on all of this, I would like to add to what we discussed, by writing to you the following. May Hashem* grant to you and to every member of your family His blessing and His success, in the broadest proportion, in all your needs, spiritual and material, in particular for that which is the most important and most primordial — the experience of true satisfaction, that is, a Jewish and Chassidic* satisfaction, from your children and grandchildren. You will receive all of this in good health, with joy and enthusiasm.

The merit of the Tzedakah* that you will continue to give in the future, in a far larger proportion, and that of your good deeds, in particular, and of the Torah* and the Mitzvos* in general, in your four cubits and in all your surroundings, will be a positive and broad channel enabling you to absorb the blessings of Hashem*, in a visible and tangible good. ישראל ,יו״ד שבט ,ובזה מבואר גם מה שמצינו אצל נביאים רבים שהשם

יתברך הורה להם לעשות גם דבר של פועל ,שירמז על ענין הנבואה ,כי זה

מבטיח יותר את קיום הנבואה .וזהו גם תוכן המשנה)אבות ג ,טו( והכל

לפי רוב המעשה)ראה שם בפירוש המשניות להרמב״ם(,

על יסוד זה ,רצוני כהוספה על מה שדברנו ,לרשום זאת גם בכתב:

השם יתברך יתן לו ולכל אחד מבני ביתו שי׳ ברכתו והצלחתו

במלוא המידה בכל הנחוץ ,הן בענינים רוחניים והן בענינים גשמיים,

ובענין הכי חשוב ,לקבל נחת אמיתי ,שזהו נחת יהודי חסידי מכל אחד

מהילדים והנכדים שלו ,ולקבל זאת בבריאות ובשמחה ובטוב לבב.

וזכות מה שלהבא יוסיף לעשות במידה גדולה בהרבה בעניני צדקה

וגמ״ח ביחוד ,ועניני תורה ומצוות בכלל ,הן בד׳ אמות שלו והן בכל

הסביבה ,תהי׳ הצנור הטוב והרחב ,לקבל את ברכות השי״ת בטוב

הנראה והנגלה.
