To the directors of the Yeshivah* of Kiryat Gat (note 1: See, on this subject, letter no. 6729),

branch of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter of 19 Adar Sheni* and the one that preceded it, with what was enclosed. I express the wish that Hashem grant you success in strengthening and developing the Yeshivah* — quantitatively, through the number of students, and qualitatively, through the level of studies. At all times and in all places, we have been enjoined to study Torah* with the fear of Hashem. And great is study that leads to action — study with the purpose of knowing and teaching, of guarding, doing, and fulfilling. How much more must this be so in our generation — that of the heel of Moshiach*, of intense darkness. This further strengthens the necessity of "the candle (which) is a mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," as well as of the luminary of this Torah*, which is its inner dimension (note 2: Revealed through Chassidus*), especially in our Holy Land, "toward which the eyes of Hashem are always turned, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year."

Our Sages* give the assurance that the result is commensurate with the effort (note 3: Literally, "the mark on the camel's back depends on the weight of the burden"). The One Who gives the Torah* and commands the mitzvah* extends His Hashgachah* to each person. He provides the ability, the strength, and the means to put His commandments into practice — and moreover, to do so with joy and enthusiasm, as our Sages* establish as Halachah* in Tractate Shabbos* 30b. The beginning of the Tosefta* at this reference specifies that the Shechinah* was revealed in the work of their hands through the joy of the mitzvah* (note 4: It is therefore joy that makes the action fruitful). May Hashem therefore multiply His blessing and His success in all the domains concerning this Yeshivah*. This will also be the channel and the vessel for the blessing of Hashem and His success in all domains, even the most specific, concerning the students, the teachers, the rosh yeshivah*, the directors, and the donors, with all the members of their families. With my respects and my blessing to give good tidings of the considerable success you will achieve in all this,

I took note with pleasure, in your report, of the beginning of the functioning of the office of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod for its branch, the Yeshivah* of Kiryat Gat. הנני מאשר קבלת מכתבם מי"ט אדר שני והקודמו עם המצו"ב.

ואני תפלה, אשר חפץ ה' בידם יצליח לבסס הישיבה ולהרחיבה, הן בכמות (מספר התלמידים) והן באיכות (רמת הלימודים).

אשר בכל עת ובכל מקום נצטוינו על תלמוד תורה ביראת שמים ו(גדול) תלמוד שמביא לידי מעשה, לימוד על מנת ללמוד וללמד לשמור ולעשות ולקיים כו', ועל אחת כמה וכמה בדורנו זה דעקבתא דמשיחא חושך כפול ומכופל, שזה עוד מגדיל ביותר וביותר ההכרח דנר מצוה ותורה אור ומאור שבתורה זו פנימיות התורה, ואף כי בארצנו הק' ארץ אשר עיני הוי' אלקיך בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה,

והבטיחונו חז"ל לפום גמלא שיחנא, אשר נותן התורה ומ;63636#&צוה המצוה הוא המשגיח על כל אחד ואחד בהשגחה פרטית, ונותן היכולת הכח והאפשריות למלא צוויו, ולא עוד אלא גם בשמחה ובטוב לבב, וכדברי חז"ל וכן לדבר הלכה (שבת ל, ב).

ויהי רצון אשר, כתחילת התוספתא שם, תשרה שכינה במעשה ידיהם מתוך שמחה של מצוה זו, ותתרבה ברכת ה' והצלחתו בכל עניני הישיבה האמורה, וזה ישמש ג"כ צנור וכלי לברכת השי"ת והצלחתו בכל הענינים, גם הפרטיים, של התלמידים הר"מים הר"י ההנהלה והתמכין דאורייתא, הם ובני ביתם שיחיו.

בכבוד ובברכה לבשורות טובות מהצלחתם מופלגה בכל האמור,
