I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 5 Nissan*, in which you indicate the place where you intend to go to spend the last days of Pesach*. This is, of course, surprising. For this is the first Pesach* you are spending in your community (note 1: Of which the recipient of this letter is the Rav*). It is, in this case, the head of the festivals, the time of our freedom — a deliverance from one extreme to the other (note 2: From slavery to freedom) — a propitious moment during which the members of this community can receive a particular influence and a specific motivation.

If this is so during the first days of the festival, how much more so for its last days, for two reasons. First, these follow the first days. Furthermore, Shevii Shel Pesach* commemorates the crossing of the Sea of Reeds, and Acharon Shel Pesach* represents the final deliverance — the coming of Moshiach* — as the discourses of our masters explain at length, as does the Haftarah* of that day (note 3: Of the last day of Pesach*).

You must therefore fill yourself with joy and enthusiasm, on account of the great success that has been granted to you yourself and to your wife, the Rebbetzin* — that of disseminating the wellsprings (note 4: Of Chassidus*) within your community and, from there, throughout the entire region. May Hashem reveal this success for you every day, especially during the festivals, particularly on Acharon Shel Pesach*, so that you use it such that: "you shall spread forth" (note 5: "To the west and to the east, to the north and to the south," according to the slogan chosen by the Rebbe for this year) — which alludes to Moshiach* (note 6: Called "the breaker of barriers," Poretz*, of the same etymology as Ufaratzta*, "you shall spread forth") — and specifically during the feast of King Moshiach* (note 7: At the end of the day of Acharon Shel Pesach*). With my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival of Pesach*, as well as to give good tidings of what concerns you, in general and in particular,

במענה למכתבו מה' ניסן, בו כותב אודות הקס"ד לנסוע מ... לימים האחרונים של פסח.

מובן הפלא שבדבר, שהרי זהו הפסח הראשון בק"ק ראש לרגלים זמן חירותנו ויציאה מן הקצה אל הקצה, וזוהי שעת הכושר אשר חברי הקהלה צריכים לצפות להשפעה מיוחדה ולהתעוררות מיוחדה, ואם בימים הראשונים כך, בימים האחרונים עאכו"כ, ומשני טעמים, כיון שבאים הם לאחרי הכנה דימים הראשונים וימי חוהמ"פ, ועוד שהרי שביעי של פסח קרי"ס ואחרון של פסח - הוא ענין גאולה האחרונה וביאת משיח, וכמבואר בארוכה בשיחות הק' של רבותינו נשיאינו, ומבואר ג"כ בהפטרת היום.

ויהי רצון שמתוך שמחה וטוב לבב על ההצלחה הגדולה שניתנה לו ולזוגתו הרבנית תחי' להפיץ המעינות בקהלתו... וממנה יפוצו גם בסביבותי' ינצל כל יום ויום, ובפרט ימי הימים טובים וביחוד אחרון של פסח, למטרה האמורה, ובכיוון דופרצת - זה משיח - ובפרט בסעודתא דמלכא משיחא.
