I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I received your letter and, subsequently, your books that were sent to me by Rav* A. H. Glitzenstein (note 2: Rav* Avraham Chanoch Glitzenstein, of Lod. See, concerning him, letter no. 6777). I thank you for this gift and I hope that in the future you will continue to send me what you publish in this domain, for the library here serves everyone.

You raise the possibility of adapting the Chabad* melodies so that their deep content and composition are not altered. I have asked the Chassidim* to contact you about this, to consider in a more precise manner how to do it concretely. To use the formulation of our Sages*: "May Hashem grant that through you and by you the Name of the Most High be praised." You know the great importance that Chabad* Chassidus* accords to these melodies, as shown in particular by the various texts cited in the introduction of the Sefer HaNiggunim* (note 3: Containing the scores of all Chabad* melodies), which you possess.

We have just experienced Pesach*, the time of our freedom, and among the first songs, you also cite Ufaratzta* (note 4: "And you shall spread forth to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south," the slogan chosen by the Rebbe for this year). I enclose a copy of my letter addressed to all on the occasion of this festival (note 5: This is letter no. 6805). May Hashem grant that it achieve its purpose and that its joy, with everything pertaining to it, continue during the weeks and months to come. With my respects and my blessing,

ת"ח על תשורתו זו, ובטח גם להבא ישלח לכאן מפרסומו בשטח האמור, כיון שהספרי' כאן היא תועלת הרבים.

במ"ש אודות עבוד נגינה חב"ד באופן שתשאר בשלימות הפנימי והתיכונה.

בקשתי את אנ"ש אשר יבואו בקישור עם כ' בהנוגע להאמור והפרטים בזה, ויהי רצון אשר בסגנון חז"ל, מני' ומנייהו יתקלס שם עילאה, וידוע גודל החשיבות אשר חסידות חב"ד מעריכה את עניני הנגונים, וכמובא ג"כ מכ"מ בהמבוא לספר הנגונים אשר ישנו אצל כ'.

כיון שז"ע באנו מחג הפסח זמן חירותנו, וכ' מזכיר במכ' בתור נגונים הראשים גם נגון ופרצת, מצורף בזה העתק מכתבי כללי למועד האמור. ויהי רצון שגם בחג זה תקוים הכוונה להמשיך משמחתו ומעניניו בהשבועות וחדשים הבאים אחריו.
