To the great Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav* Ephraim Eliezer (note 1: Rav* E. E. Yalles, of Philadelphia. See, concerning him, letter no. 6582) HaKohen,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter today, before going to the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us (note 2: On the occasion of erev* Rosh Chodesh*, "the minor Yom Kippur*"), and there I mentioned the names of all those you cite. We are between Nissan* — the month of deliverance and miracles — on the one hand, and the month of radiance (note 3: Iyar*), when those who illuminated the world were born (note 4: The Patriarchs), on the other. And one knows the words of the Arizal* according to which when "these days are commemorated," they are also "relived." May Hashem therefore grant that you experience increase in your personal and communal concerns, within all of Yisrael*. You will experience freedom and deliverance, in order to multiply the radiance in the world — the reflection and the lights of the deeds of our Patriarchs. The Tanya* explains that all their limbs, all their actions were consecrated solely to the Will of Hashem, for their submission was total. With my blessing to give good tidings,

N.B.: In a pleasant vein, one can cite regarding the name Rachel, which you write was given without a specific reason, what is cited by the Halachah* in the revealed dimension of the Torah* — the Nachalas Shivah* and the Beis Shmuel*, chapter 126, paragraph 20 — namely, that Iyar* is composed of the initials of Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, and Rachel, which correspond to the heavenly chariot (note 5: Which are its four legs). And it is said of freedom and deliverance: "As in the days of your going out of Mitzrayim*, I will show you wonders." We will attain it through the fact that Rachel weeps for her children, which results in: "Thus says Hashem... the children shall return to their border."

היום קבלתי מכתבו קודם נסעי להציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, והזכרתי שמה כל אלה שכותב אודותם.

ויהי רצון כיון שנמצאים אנו בין חדש ניסן חדש הגאולה והנסים וחדש זיו, בו נולדו זיותני עולם, וידוע דברי האריז"ל, שהימים האלה כשהם נזכרים (ה"ה גם) ונעשים, הנה יתוסף בכל ענינים הפרטים והכללים בתכ"י חירות וגאולה להרבות זיו גם בעולם, זיו והארות מעבודת אבותינו וכמבואר בתניא שכל אבריהם ועשיותיהם רק לרצון העליון לבדו כל ימיהם - בחי' מרכבה.
