To the young Chassid* who fears Hashem, of many

accomplishments, Aharon Nachman (note 1: Rav* A. N. Friedman, of Kfar Chabad*),

I greet you and bless you,

After an interruption, I received your letter from Motzaei Shabbos* Parshas* Acharei*, with what was enclosed. I am surprised by your brevity where it would have been necessary to provide detail — concerning the activities you carried out for the Matzah Shemurah* campaign (note 2: By distributing it so that everyone would have some for the Seder*). Certainly, mitigating circumstances can be granted to you. You surely think that others write to me, communicating all the necessary details.

May Hashem therefore grant that you give me good tidings of the points about which you write me, especially since you are right to say that for several of them, the moment is propitious to act with success, without too many difficulties. It is regarding this that it is said: "It is good to do it at the earliest moment" (note 3: The sooner the better). But of course, one must have an established program and intervene in a pleasant manner.

Your letter also indicates that this year as well, it seems, the Matzah Shemurah* production was not utilized in an organized manner (note 4: By offering the opportunity to visit the factory, particularly for school students). Now, this is one of the specific activities carried out by Chabad* and a means of contacting each person in a pleasant manner. It is, moreover, an occasion to speak words of encouragement. This is self-evident.

We are now concluding the month of Nissan* and entering the month of radiance (note 5: Iyar*. See the preceding letter), when those who illuminated the world were born (note 6: The Patriarchs). And one knows the words of the Arizal* according to which when "these days are commemorated," they are also "relived." May Hashem therefore grant that you experience increase in your personal and communal concerns at once, within all of Yisrael*. You will experience freedom and deliverance, in order to multiply the radiance in the world — the reflection and the lights of the deeds of our Patriarchs. The Tanya* explains that all their limbs, all their actions were consecrated solely to the Will of Hashem. With my blessing to give good tidings shortly of what concerns you personally and of your communal concerns,

לאחרי הפסק נתקבל מכתבו ממוצש"ק פ' אחרי עם המצורף אליו, ולפלא שמקצר במקום שאמרו להאריך, בהנוגע לפעולות מבצע מצה שמורה וכו', ואף שלימוד זכות יש בזה, שבודאי יראה שאחרים יכתבו בזה בפרטיות הדרושה.

ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב באותן הנקודות שכותב הוא, ובפרט שצדק בדבריו, שכמה מהם עתה שעת הכושר לעשות בהצלחה, ומבלי קישוים יתרים, ועל כגון דא נאמר, יפה שעה אחת קודם, אף שכמובן צ"ל בתכנית מוכנה ובדרכי נועם.

מה שניכר גם כן במכתבו הוא, שלדאבון כנראה, גם השנה לא ניצלו המפעל דמצה שמורה באופן מסודר, והרי זו מהפעולות המיוחדות לחב"ד, ונותנות דרך לחדור לכאו"א בדרך של נועם, וביחד עם זה נותנות אפשריות לאמר דבור של התעוררות, וק"ל.

ויהי רצון שכיון שבאים אנו מחדש ניסן, ונכנסים לחדש זיו, בו נולדו זיותני עולם, וידוע דברי האריז"ל, שכשהימים נזכרים (ה"ה גם) ונעשים, הנה יתוסף בכל ענינים הפרטים והכללים, בתכ"י, חירות וגאולה להרבות זיו בעולם, זיו והארות מעשה אבותינו, וכמובא בתניא, שכל אבריהם ועשיותיהם רק לרצון העליון לבדו כל ימיהם.
