Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6836 — Tzedakah
Volume 18 · Letter 334 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu et se consacre
By the grace of Hashem,
3 Iyar* 5719,
Brooklyn,
To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself
to communal needs, Rav* Shlomo (note 1: Rav* S. Perin, of London. See, concerning him, letter no. 6705),
I greet you and bless you,
I received your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Iyar* and I am surprised that you do not mention in it my letter on the occasion of the festival of Pesach*. You will surely complete all of this at the next opportunity. I read with pleasure in your letter that the Beis Lubavitch* (note 2: Of London. See, on this subject, letter no. 6705) has been strengthened, and I took note of the plans developed to continue the task.
It is surely unnecessary to emphasize to you that "Hashem is with us" and that consequently, "you shall not fear them," despite the many difficulties you cite in your letter. You know the decision of the Heavenly Court according to which, due to the self-sacrifice that the Alter Rebbe* (note 3: Which led him to the Tsarist prisons, then to the liberation of Yud-Tes Kislev*) demonstrated for Chassidus*, those who are connected to him and follow his path would prevail in everything concerning Torah*, fear of Hashem, and good conduct. This is printed in the notes and summaries on the Tanya*, at the end of page 122. And if this was so at all times, how much more so is it the case in this period of ikvesa d'Meshicha* (note 4: In immediate proximity to his coming), at the end of the exile. Everything pertaining to Yiddishkeit* and Chassidus* then assumes particular importance. It is therefore certain that one receives the necessary strength to reach the objective.
The slogan of this year (note 5: See, on this subject, letter no. 6541) is: "You shall spread forth to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south," until obtaining "an inheritance without limit." May Hashem grant that this be so in this domain as well. Fortunate is the lot of all those who are active in this matter. Furthermore, this endeavor is the channel for obtaining increased blessings in your personal needs and those of your family. I send my blessing for considerable success, in particular to all those who have lent their support until now and who will surely do so in the future in an even stronger manner, so that they be blessed with all material and spiritual good. In anticipation of good tidings of all this,
M. Schneerson,
