To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself

to communal needs, Rav* Tuvya (note 1: Rav* T. Blau, of Yerushalayim*. See letter no. 6636),

I greet you and bless you,

After a long interruption, I received your letter of 3 Iyar*, and at a propitious moment I will mention all those you cite at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, so that each one obtain the satisfaction of his needs. I am surprised that you tell me so little — and in fact practically nothing at all — about the activities carried out within the framework of the youth of the Chabad* association, especially for the dissemination of the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*). May Hashem grant that the deficiency be only in what you write to me, but not in the concrete action. And as I have already specified, one can observe that by reporting what is done to a certain person (note 3: In this case, to the Rebbe himself), one ensures that the activities are increased in quantity, in quality, or even in both domains at once. May Hashem grant that you give me good tidings of all this.

Moreover (note 4: See letter no. 6854), we are in the month of radiance (note 5: Iyar*), when those who illuminated the world were born (note 6: The Patriarchs). And one knows the words of the Arizal* according to which these days, when they are "commemorated," are also "relived." This will strengthen your communal activities and personal accomplishments, within all of Yisrael*. You will attain liberation and deliverance, in order to multiply the radiance and reflections of the deeds of our ancestors. As the Tanya* states, the members of their body and their actions (note 7: Those of the Patriarchs) were consecrated solely to the Will of Hashem throughout their lives. לאחרי הפסק ארוך, מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מג' אייר. ובעת רצון יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם, על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, כאו"א להמצטרך לו.

ולפלא שמקצר כל כך ועד לאפס - בהנוגע לפעולות במסגרת צעירי אגודת חב"ד ובפרט בהפצת המעינות. ויהי רצון שלא יהי' זה אלא חסרון בכתיבה אבל לא בהפעולות.

אף שכבר כתבתי, שרואים שהידיעה שבמשך הזמן יכתבו ע"ד הפעולות לפלוני - מביאה זה הוספה בפעולות אם בכמות או באיכות או בשניהם גם יחד. ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בזה.

ובפרט שהרי נמצאים אנו בחדש זיו, בו נולדו זיותני עולם, וידוע דברי האריז"ל, כשהימים נזכרים (ה"ה גם) ונעשים, הנה יתוסף בכל ענינים הכללים והפרטים, בתכ"י - חירות וגאולה להרבות זיו והארות מעשיות אבותנו, וכמבואר בתניא שכל אבריהם ועשיותיהם רק לרצון העליון לבדו כל ימיהם.
