By the grace of Hashem,

I bless you and greet you,

Rav* Hecht, to whom Hashem will grant long life, told me that you were questioning yourself about the tallis* that was used for your husband (note 1: For his burial), may he rest in peace. You are not certain that it belonged to him (note 2: This woman was wondering whether it had been a fault to bury her husband with a tallis that did not belong to him).

If you know to whom it belonged, you may give its equivalent value to that person. If it is only a presumption, you may, as a precautionary measure, dedicate that equivalent value to the support of a synagogue where prayers are recited daily, or offer it a tallis*, so that it be used by the chazzan* or by one of those who pray in that place.

שהשתמשו בה עבור בעלה ע״ה .שספק אצלה האם היא היתה שלו.

אם יודעת שהיא היתה שייכת למישהו ,אפשר להחזיר לו את שווי

הטלית ,ואם אין זה אלא חשש )בלתי מבוסס( ,הרי ליתר בטחון ,יכולה

לתרום שווי טלית לבית כנסת בו מתפללים כל יום ,או לתת במתנה

טלית לבית כנסת כזה ,שהחזן או מתפללי בית הכנסת ישתמשו בה.
