I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your telephoned information that the medical treatment has begun. May Hashem grant that it be a great success and that it bring you a speedy recovery.

One confers merit upon a day that is propitious by nature — in this case, that of the Hilula* of Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai* — a date (note 1: Lag BaOmer*) that brings great joy, as various texts establish. His work consisted of introducing the hidden dimension of the Torah* into its revealed dimension. It follows that the hidden dimension of Yisrael* is revealed in its manifest dimension. This vivifies all the limbs of the body at once. Indeed, our Torah*, Torah* of life, emphasizes that "maintaining a whole and healthy body is among the ways of Hashem" (note 2: In the words of the Rambam*). With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,
