By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter from Motzaei Shabbos*. You tell me of your surprise upon observing that you have no direction (note 1: This presumably refers to a school in which the addressee teaches). Now, I am astonished by your surprise, for this direction, as its name indicates, directs this institution — and does so well. Naturally, in all that belongs to the domains of good and holiness, addition remains possible and is therefore indispensable, all the more so since one is connected to the Holy One, blessed be He, Who is the true Infinite. It is a mitzvah* of the Torah* to cleave to Him, to cleave to His ways.

Progress is currently being made in the development of this institution. And one can verify this concretely. It suffices to recall what it was one or two years ago. There is therefore indeed a direction. And as I have said, I hope that you will not be content with the gains obtained until now, all the more so since the moment is propitious for advancing and furthering the Torah* and the mitzvos* in general, this institution in particular. This is self-evident. May Hashem grant that very soon you give me good tidings of it, in conformity with what was said (note 2: By the Rebbe) to that distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of many accomplishments, full of eagerness and good conduct, regarding the necessity of having a conduct in accordance with the verse: "You shall spread forth to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south" (note 3: In conformity with the slogan chosen by the Rebbe for this year. See, on this subject, letter no. 6541), until one obtains "an inheritance without limits." With my blessing of success in your sacred mission and to give good tidings of all this,

במענה למכתבם ממוצש"ק, במ"ש שלפלא בעיניהם שאין להם שם הנהלה.

ופלא בעיני על הפליאה, כי הנהלה תוכנה כשמה, שמנהלת את המוסד ובטוב.

ואף שמובן שבעניני טוב וקדושה, תמיד יש מקום להוסיף, ובמילא מחויבים להוסיף, וביחוד שהרי קשור עם הקב"ה שהוא אין סוף ובלי גבול האמיתי, ומ"ע מן התורה לדבקה בו, להדבק בדרכיו, אבל כיון שהולכים מחיל אל חיל בהתפתחות המוסד, וכנראה במוחש (להשוות המוסד - לפני שנה ושנתים), הרי זו היא הנהלה. וכנ"ל תקותי שלא יסתפקו בההישגים דעד עתה, אלא שיוסיפו כהנה וכהנה, ובפרט שנמצאים בשעת הכושר להגדיל ולהרחיב תומ"צ בכלל ובמוסד כהאמור ביחוד, וד"ל.

ויהי רצון שיבשרו טוב בקרוב ממש, ומתאים למה שנדבר עם הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ רב פעלים ובעל מרץ בעל מדות מו"ה... וע"ד ההכרח דהנהגה דופרצת ימה וקדמה וצפונה ונגבה ועד לנחלה בלי מצרים.
