To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself

to communal needs, Rav* Menachem (note 1: Rav* M. Melov, of Kfar Chabad*. See, concerning him, letter no. 6850),

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter of 16 Iyar*, with what was enclosed, and I thank you for having taken the trouble to send me a copy of the circular letter. In fact, it seems to me that I possess a copy, but I have not had the time to search for it. You tell me that there is, in Tel Aviv, the son of a Chassid* who studied under the Tzemach Tzedek* and who possesses some manuscripts (note 2: Of Chassidic* discourses) or notes of what he received from his father. No doubt you will take an interest in them and procure them, for very often one finds, in the notes taken by those who were present, substantial additions (note 3: Compared to what was directly written by the Rebbe). This is self-evident. I thank you in advance for the efforts you will make in this matter.

My letter, responding to your previous correspondence, has surely reached you in due time. May Hashem grant that you announce good tidings to me of all that was mentioned therein. With my blessing to give good tidings,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מט"ז אייר עם המצורף אליו ות"ח על טרחתו לשלוח לי העתק המכתב חוזר וכו' אף שכמדומה ישנו אצלי אבל אין הזמן גרמא עתה לחפש.

מענין מ"ש שנמצא בת"א בנו של חסיד שלמד אצל אדמו"ר הצ"צ ונמצאים אצלו כמה ביכלעך כתבים או הנחות ששמע אביו, בודאי יתענין בזה וישיגם, שהרי לפעמים קרובות במה שציינו השומעים עצמם, ישנן הוספות חשובות, וק"ל. ות"ח מראש על טרחתו בכל האמור.

מכתבי מענה על מכתבו הקודם בטח נתקבל בעתו, ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל אותן הנקודות שכתבו וענו.
