To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and carries out

a sacred mission, Rav* Shlomo Chaim (note 1: Rav* S. C. Kasselman, of Lod. See, concerning him, letters nos. 6294 and 6897),

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I received your letter of 28 Iyar*, with the list of students (note 2: Of the students of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch of Lod) that was enclosed. If this has not yet been done, it would be good to ask the students of the Yeshivah* who transcribe the talks (note 3: Of the Rebbe) here, during the Chassidic* farbrengens*, to send you the texts on the application of the injunction "You shall spread forth" (note 4: "To the west and to the east, to the north and to the south," according to the slogan chosen by the Rebbe for this year) to the study of the Torah* (note 5: See, on this subject, letter no. 6541).

I hope that these talks will be of use to you, as well as to the administration of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* in general. Their message is a strengthening and an intensification of study. May Hashem grant that they be words emanating from the heart (note 6: Of the one who speaks them), which penetrate the heart (note 7: Of the one who listens to them) and produce their effect. And may this action also be in conformity with the injunction: "You shall spread forth." With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,
