By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter from the eve of Shabbos* Parshas* Behaaloscha*. The date of your letter mentions the Parshah* of the week (note 1: See, on this subject, letter no. 6892) in which it is said: "Speak to Aharon*... When you raise the lights." Our Sages* explain, on this: "Until the flame rises on its own."

May Hashem therefore grant that you also assume your mission (note 2: Consisting of kindling the flame until it rises on its own), every Jew being part of "a kingdom of priests and a holy nation." This mission, for each person, consists of kindling "the candle of Hashem, which is the soul of man" in all the Jews with whom you can come into contact, each time "until the flame rises on its own."

הנה ימלא גם הוא תפקידו (שכאו"א מבנ"י הוא חלק מממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש) באופנו, להדליק נר ה' נשמת אדם בבנ"י שבא עמהם במגע, פעם אחר פעם, עד שתהא שלהבת עולה מאלי'.
