By the grace of Hashem,

7 Elul* 5719,

To the great Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and

assumes a sacred mission, Rav* Yitzchak (note 1: Rav* Y. Dubov, of Manchester. See, concerning him, letter no. 6564),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter from the first day of Rosh Chodesh* Elul*, with the request for a blessing that will be read, at a propitious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. I learned from it with pleasure that you are thinking of organizing a Chassidic* farbrengen* on the day when the two luminaries were suspended (note 2: The Baal Shem Tov* and the Alter Rebbe*), the 18th of Elul*.

May Hashem grant that each one fulfill his mission, in order to satisfy their holy will — to spread the wellsprings (note 3: Of Chassidus*) outward — and that this begin immediately. Indeed, one confers merit upon propitious days, in this case those of the month of Elul*, in accordance with the parable stated by the Alter Rebbe* (note 4: Who says that during the month of Elul*, the King is in the field. Whoever wishes may address Him. He shows a smiling face and He grants all the requests presented to Him) in Likkutei Torah*, Parshas Re'eh*, page 32b, which you will consult. With my blessing to give good tidings, to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מאדר"ח אלול, עם הפ"נ שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ונעם לי לקרות בו שמקוה לעשות התועדות ביום שנתלו בו שני המאורות הגדולים הוא ח"י אלול.

ויהי רצון שכאו"א ימלא תפקידו במילוי רצונם הק' להפיץ המעינות חוצה, ותתחיל ההתחלה תיכף, שהרי מגלגלין זכות ליומין זכאין הם ימי חדש אלול, וכמבואר המשל מרבנו הזקן יעו"ש (לקו"ת ראה לב, ב).
