To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav* Avraham Moshe (note 1: Rav* A. M. Greenberg, of Bnei Brak. See, concerning him, letter no. 6168),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 8 Elul*. You ask me about chapter 7 of Shaar HaYichud VeHaEmunah*, according to which the knowledge of the Creator (note 2: Of the deeds of His creatures) is part of Himself. You ask me for clarifications on this subject, but you do not indicate to me what you find difficult. You will find these clarifications in several texts of Chassidus*, in particular Torah Or* by the author of the Tanya*, at page 14d, regarding the verse: "I will descend... (note 3: And I will see whether) in accordance with the cry... (note 4: They have done evil. Does Hashem 'need' to 'descend' to this world to observe the deeds of the creatures?)." Rabbi Avraham Ibn Ezra* also discusses this subject, as you recall in your letter. You will also see the Sefer HaMitzvos* of the Tzemach Tzedek*, at the mitzvah* of faith in Hashem and at that of the Jewish servant.

In addition to the three well-known studies, concerning the Chumash*, the Tehillim*, and the Tanya*, I hope that you have a fixed time for the study of Chassidus*. In accordance with the injunction of the Torah*, this study must lead to action. This is self-evident. With my blessing to give good tidings, to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

במ"ש בשער היחוד והאמונה פרק ז' בענין אופן ידיעת הבורא ב"ה שהוא בידיעת עצמו וכו' ושואל ביאור נוסף בזה, אבל אינו מפרט הפרט בו נתקשה.

וימצא ביאור נוסף בכ"מ בדא"ח, ומהם בספר תורה אור לבעל התניא יד, ד עה"כ ארדה גו' הכצעקתה גו' בו מדבר ג"כ הראב"ע שהביא במכתבו, ובספר המצות לאדמו"ר הצמח צדק מצות האמנת אלקות ומצות דין עבד עברי ועוד.

תקותי שנוסף על שמירת שלשת השיעורים דחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים יש לו קביעות עתים בלימוד תורת החסידות, וכציווי התורה שצ"ל תלמוד שמביא לידי מעשה, וק"ל.
