To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

filled with eagerness, Rav Nachman (note 1: Rav N. Sudak, delegated by the Rebbe to direct the Beis Lubavitch of London, according to letter no. 6974. See, regarding him, letters no. 4567 and 7278),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 11 Menachem Av*, with what was enclosed. I have good hope that each of the Chassidim*, the small and the great, will redouble their ardor and vigor in all that concerns the Lubavitch institutions of your city, in general, and the present financial situation, in particular. Each one will make an effort that may be described as "exertion," and in this way, the promise will be fulfilled according to which: "if you make efforts, they will be crowned with success." It is indispensable that they adopt this attitude, to the full extent of what is appropriate and, in the expression of our Sages*, "as it should be done." Nothing withstands the will, especially if they tell themselves that this is their true good, including in what concerns them personally, as can be deduced from various texts, particularly from the talks of our masters and leaders, whose merit protects us.

Furthermore, this year is the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of the Baal Shem Tov*, who introduced his sacred mission by devoting himself to the education of small Jewish children, based on sacred values (note 2: Which is the activity of the Beis Lubavitch of London). Now, when one commemorates these days, these events take place anew and one experiences success. Of course, you may communicate the content of this letter to all the Chassidim* or show them this letter. With my blessing for great success in this mission and to give very soon good tidings of all this,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מי"א מ"ח עם המצורף אליו, ובטוחני חזק אשר כאו"א מאנ"ש הקטנים עם הגדולים יוסיפו כח ועוז לכל עניני מוסדות ליובאוויטש אשר במחנם בכלל ובפרט בהנוגע להמצב הנוכחי בעניני כספים ובאופן דעד כדי השתדלות הנקראת בשם יגיעה ותקוים ההבטחה דיגעת ומצאת, והרי הכרח הוא שיעשו הנ"ל בהנ"ל ככל הדרוש ובסגנון חז"ל כמאן דבעי למהוי, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון ובפרט כשיתבוננו שזהו טובתם האמיתי גם בעניניהם הפרטים וכמובן מהמבואר בכ"מ ולראש ולראשונה בשיחות רבותינו נשיאנו זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ובפרט שנמצאים אנו השנה בשנת המאתים להסתלקות הילולא של הבעש"ט, אשר תחלת פעולתו בקדש בגלוי הי' בחינוך על טהרת הקדש של ילדים וקטני בני ישראל, והרי הימים האלה (כשהם) נזכרים (ה"ה גם) ונעשים, להצליח בזה.
