To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and carries out a

sacred mission, Rav Avraham Mordechai Shmuel (note 1: Rav A. M. S. Lieder, of Kfar Chabad*. See, regarding him, letter no. 6971),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 15 Marcheshvan*, in which you briefly describe your dissemination of the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*). May Hashem grant that these activities multiply greatly, among all the other accomplishments destined to disseminate traditional Yiddishkeit*. Moreover, this will greatly increase the satisfaction of your material needs. In fact, the heavenly revelation here below, within matter, is far broader than at its spiritual source. And you know the illustration that is given in this regard. By sacrificing a bird on the altar, one achieves the elevation of the spiritual worlds and one reveals a broad blessing in all that concerns man.

Furthermore, this year is the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of the Baal Shem Tov*, a propitious time and moment to disseminate these wellsprings until they reach the outside. With my blessing to give good tidings,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מט"ו מ"ח, בו כותב ר"פ מעניני הפצת המעינות, ויהי רצון שיתוסף בהפעולות האמורות כהנה וכהנה בתוככי שאר פעולות להפצת היהדות המסורתית, שבד"מ יתוסף כהנה וכהנה בענינים הגשמים בפרט שבהשתלשלות מלמעלה למטה הוא בגשמיות כ"פ ככה בערך הרוחניות, וכידוע הדוגמא אשר בהקרבת עוף אחד ע"ג המזבח נעשית עליית עולמות עליונים ונמשכת ברכה רבה בעניני האדם.

ובפרט אשר השנה היא שנת המאתים להסתלקות הילולא של הבעש"ט עת וזמן מסוגל להפצת המעינות ועד שיגיעו גם חוצה.
