By the grace of Hashem,

To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes

himself to communal needs, Rav Yisrael (note 1: Rav I. Leibov, of Kfar Chabad*. See, regarding him, letters no. 6792, 6970, 7292, 7317, and 7414),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 22 Marcheshvan* and to those that preceded it. I thank you very much for the good news you announce, that of the settlement of our Sephardic brothers. May Hashem grant that this be a good beginning for establishing a true closeness, which will go increasing, until the promise is fulfilled according to which: "I will make of them one people... and David, My servant, shall be their king," with the coming of our righteous Moshiach*, very soon and in our days, Amen.

To pass to another subject, I remind you of the importance of the Chassidic* farbrengen* of 19 Kislev* and the necessity of taking advantage of it, as well as of the days preceding it and the days following it, to disseminate the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*). I have already written on this subject to the committee of the Kfar, which raised this question in a letter addressed to me, and I emphasized the necessity of action in this matter on the part of the youth of the Chabad* association, but I reiterate here this necessity, as well as in the days preceding this date and, subsequently, during Chanukah*. This extended period will allow contact with a great number of Jewish settlements. Given this importance, I wrote to the committee that I will launch a specific fundraising campaign, which will cover half the cost of the Chassidic* farbrengen* of Kfar Chabad*, as well as half the cost of the campaign to be launched by the youth of the Chabad* association. This dissemination of the wellsprings will be linked to the bicentennial (note 3: Of the Hilloula of the Baal Shem Tov) and, in this year, to the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus* (note 4: 19 Kislev) that our holy masters bequeathed to us, whose merit protects us, and "this is indeed the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov*," in the expression of the holy epistle of the Rebbe Rashab*, which you will consult.

May Hashem grant, as I said, that this hasten the fulfillment of the promise according to which: "He has redeemed our soul in peace," as this epistle explains. And the personal liberation will lead to the collective redemption, as Iggeres HaKodesh* of the Alter Rebbe* specifies, in the letter introduced by: "Israel will be redeemed only through tzedakah*" and concluding with: "Hashem will shine His countenance upon us forever, Amen, so may it be." With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,

ת"ח ת"ח על הבשורה טובה מסידור הענין דאחב"י מספרד, ויהי רצון שתהי' זו התחלה טובה לקירוב הלבבות באופן דהלוך הוסיף הלוך ואור עד לקיום היעוד, ועשיתי אותם לגוי אחד וגו' ועבדי דוד מלך עליהם, בביאת משיח צדקנו בב"א.

ומענין לענין באותו ענין, ע"ד הנחיצות דהתועדות די"ט כסלו הבע"ל וניצולה, וכן הימים שלפני זה ושלאחרי זה להפצת המעינות, וכבר כתבתי בזה גם לועד הכפר, וכיון שנגע בזה במכתבו הוא, וכן בהנוגע ומוכרח להעשות בזה מצד צעירי אגו"ח הנני חוזר על הנקודה, שהכרח הנ"ל וכן בימים שלפני זה ובימי חנוכה שלאחרי זה, ובמילא יש זמן להקיף מספר רב של מושבות בנ"י, ולנחיצות הדבר כתבתי להועד שאעורר המגבית המיוחדת להשתתף בזה בחצי ההוצאות שבהתועדות דכפר חב"ד, ועד"ז בחצי ההוצאות דצעירי אגו"ח במבצע האמור, שמבצע הפצת המעינות בקשר שנת המאתים, ובשנה זו גופא בר"ה לדא"ח אשר הנחילנו אבותינו הקדושים זצוקללה"ה זי"ע והיא תורת הבעש"ט ז"ל (כלשון אגרת הקדש של אדמו"ר מוהרש"ב נ"ע, עיי"ש).

ויהי רצון אשר כנ"ל עי"ז יתקרב הענין דפדה בשלום נפשנו, כמבואר שם, ומגאולה פרטית לגאולה הכללית, כמבואר באגה"ק לרבנו הזקן, שהתחלתה אין ישראל נגאלין אלא בצדקה, וסיומה, יאר ה' פניו אתנו סלה אכי"ר.
