I greet you and bless you,

After a long interruption, I duly received your letter of this Tuesday, when twice the word "good" was said (note 1: During the Creation), the first day of Rosh Chodesh* Kislev*, the month of miracles and redemption. I thank you for the good news at the beginning of your letter. It is appropriate to thank Hashem for such a situation. Now, however good this situation may be, He can always grant more. This will surely result, on your part and that of your family, in an increased commitment to the Torah* and the mitzvos*, in what concerns you personally and in the dissemination of Yiddishkeit*, the Torah*, and the mitzvos* in every place you can reach. You will accomplish all this in tranquility, joy, and enthusiasm, and from time to time, you will strengthen your commitment. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this.

You refer to a partition (note 2: Between the men and the women in the synagogue) whose upper part would be made of transparent glass. The answer is, by itself, quite evident. Whom will one fool in this manner (note 3: By making one believe that there is indeed a partition)? Furthermore, the plain meaning of the verse Bereishis* 19:17: "And it was when they brought them (note 4: Lot and his family) out" is the following. In this case, it was the angels who brought them out. And verse 16 likewise says: "They brought them out," in the plural. Similarly, the Targum Onkelos*, on verse 19:17, according to various versions, indicates: "They brought them out" and not: "He brought them out."
