By the grace of Hashem,
21 Teves* 5720,
Brooklyn,
I bless you and greet you,
I am responding to your letter, in which you inform me of the action of the highest importance carried out by the women's auxiliary for the benefit of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*. You conclude by asking me what should be done next, since such activity has an effect on your health. We heard many times from my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and also in the name of his father, the Rebbe (note 1: Rashab*), whose merit protects us, who were the founders and directors of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, what immense value is attached to the support one provides, according to one's means, to strengthen and develop the Yeshivos*. They also showed that such a merit not only is revealed after one hundred and twenty years (note 2: At the end of life), but furthermore constitutes the channel and the receptacle enabling one to obtain the blessings of Hashem in all the needs one experiences here below.
It is therefore quite clear that one must maintain this activity, continue to assume it, observe the reality as it is, see that here is a domain for which our masters gave of themselves. This also means that such an activity not only should not compromise one's health, but on the contrary, can only strengthen it, like every positive accomplishment that a person achieves or from which he benefits. This has a contribution in all domains and strengthens health. Of course, it is possible, as is the case with many other activities, that one encounters difficulties or, as you write, inappropriate conduct toward you on the part of your colleagues. One should seek to improve such a situation, to the fullest extent possible. Without a doubt, you will gradually achieve such a result. Conversely, there is no reason to say that because another does not behave properly, one should oneself do what is not good. May Hashem therefore grant that you and your husband, the Rav Shlita*, have good health for long days and good years. Both of you, to the extent of your means, will succeed in strengthening all the domains of Chassidus*, with good morale and in an ever-increasing manner. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,
For the Rebbe Shlita*,
the secretary,
