I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your two letters — that of 24 Teves*, Hilloula* of the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, and the one that preceded it. I took note therein with pleasure of the activities you are conducting to disseminate Judaism. May Hashem grant that you multiply them, in every domain where your influence extends. You ask me for details on this subject — how to carry out this dissemination. Of course, one cannot issue rigid rules in this matter, for everything depends on the people and the conditions of the place. A leader must always base himself on what he sees with his own eyes. However, we have been enjoined to conform our conduct to the following principle: "Salvation is obtained through numerous counselors." In this matter, you will solicit the counsel of the youth of the Chabad* association and the group of Yeshivah* students. No doubt you will continue in this direction, for experience exists in this domain, in various circles.

At a propitious moment, I will mention all those you cite near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, in accordance with what you write to me. May Hashem grant that you give me good tidings, including regarding the Hilloula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe. You will tell me in what manner this propitious day was used for Torah* and Mitzvos*. May Hashem grant that its impression be felt throughout the entire year. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this, and on the occasion of your birthday, for a year of success in these activities,

מאשר הנני קבלת שני מכתביו, מכ"ד טבת (והקודמו) שהוא יום ההילולא של כ"ק רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשו"ע.

ונעם לי לקרות בהם, מפעולותיו בהפצת עניני יהדות, ויהי רצון שיוסיף בהם כהנה וכהנה ובכל מקום שידו מגעת.

ולשאלו פרטים בהנוגע להאמור: אופן ההפצה וכו', מובן שאין לקבוע מסמרות בזה, כיון שתלוי באופי האישים תנאי המסיבה וכו' שבכל כגון דא אין לו לעסקן אלא מה שעיניו רואות. אלא שנצטוינו להתנהג בזה מתאים למה שנאמר ותשועה ברוב יועץ.

והרי גם בהאמור יתייעץ עם צעירי אגודת חב"ד ואת"ה, ובטח ימשיך באופן כזה, שהרי להנ"ל יש נסיון בחוגים שונים וכו'.

בעת רצון יזכירו כל אלה שכותב אודותם, על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, מתאים לתוכן כתבו, ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב ובזה גם בהנוגע ליום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע - מניצול יום סגולה זה לתומ"צ.

ויהי רצון שיהי' רישומו ניכר בכל השנה כולה.
