By the grace of Hashem,

5 Adar* 5720,

To the leaders of the organization of Yeshivah* students, may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I received with pleasure your letter of 2 Adar*, with what was enclosed therewith (note 1: See the preceding letter). May Hashem grant that the leaders of your organization and all its members meet with success in their endeavor — the dissemination of the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*) to the outside — with immense and considerable success. Our masters and leaders, who gave of their very persons for the dissemination of this teaching, will without a doubt invoke divine compassion, and this will strengthen the blessing granted by Hashem in this matter, so that you succeed both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Your letter was written during the propitious days of the month of Adar*, when "for the Jews, there was light, joy, gladness, and honor." Our Sages* explain: "Light — this is the Torah*..." Now, a verse cannot be divorced from its plain meaning. It will therefore be so, in light, joy, gladness, and honor, in the most literal sense. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבם מב' אדר עם המצורף אליו.

ויהי רצון אשר הנהלת את"ה ביחד עם כל חברי את"ה - יצליחו בעבודתם, הפצת המעינות חוצה, בהצלחה רבה ומופלגה, מתאים להכרח ודרישת השעה. והרי זכות הרבים מסייעתם, והתעוררות רחמים של רבותינו נשיאינו שמסרו נפשם על הפצת תורה זו - בודאי ובודאי אשר תרבה בברכת השי"ת בעבודתם האמורה, להצליח בזה בכמות ובאיכות גם יחד.

והרי נכתב מכתבם בימי סגולה דחודש אדר, אשר ליהודים היתה אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר, ופירשו רז"ל אורה זו תורה וכו'. והרי אין מקרא יוצא מידי פשוטו, ויהי כל זה מתוך אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר כפשוטו.
