To the attention of the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, who judges his community, an active man of many accomplishments, the Rav Shaul Shlita* Danan (note 1: See, regarding him, letter no. 1731), president of the rabbinical court of the community of Rabat, may Hashem guard and protect you,

I greet you and bless you,

I reproduce here the text of a telegram that the Rebbe Shlita* addressed to you this day, regarding the event that unfortunately occurred (note 2: The earthquake of Agadir, during which many Jews lost their lives. See, on this subject, letters no. 7226, 7227, and 7232):

"Together with all our brethren of Morocco, may Hashem grant them long life, we mourn the fire sent by Hashem, the Creator (note 3: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: 'Shulchan Aruch*, Orach Chaim*, beginning of chapter 227'), upon the holy community of Agadir. We pray for this community (note 4: The Rebbe notes: 'Tractate Berachos* 30a'), that Hashem may heal (note 5: The Rebbe notes: 'Amos 9:11') the wounds of His people, in every place where it is found. He will restore its ruins and, very soon, in calm and generosity, communities will be built, institutions of Torah* and Mitzvos*, until there be fulfilled the promise: 'I will rebuild it as in the days of old' (note 6: The Rebbe notes: 'Amos 9:11'), with the coming of our righteous Moshiach*. In greeting our brethren who suffer, with my respects and my blessing,

I have asked the members of our community who are nearby (note 7: The Rebbe notes: 'Shulchan Aruch*, Orach Chaim*, chapter 576, paragraph 12') to add, in connection with what has happened, a prayer next Thursday, on the occasion of the fast (note 8: This refers to the Fast of Esther*), and I have specified that they must also give Tzedakah*."
