Igrot Kodesh · Letter 7225 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem,

15 Adar* 5720,

Brooklyn,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter and to what was enclosed therewith (note 1: This letter was sent to many people). I received a blessing and I will therefore give you one as well (note 2: See the preceding letter), which will be fulfilled in accordance with the terms of the verse: "These days are commemorated and relived, in each generation," which means, as is known, that if they are commemorated in the proper manner, they take effect once more. There will therefore be "light, joy, gladness, and honor," according to the interpretation of our Sages* and also in the literal sense. With my blessing to give good tidings, with considerable success in your sacred mission, so that: "you shall spread forth..." (note 3: "To the west and to the east, to the north and to the south").
