By the grace of Hashem,

To the participants in the study of Tanya*, at the Yeshivah* Bnei Akiva* of Kfar HaRoeh*,

I greet you and bless you,

I received your letter with pleasure and, as you request, I will mention your names near the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, so that you know success in study — a study that will lead to action, your own first, then that of others. We are on the day after Purim*, regarding which it is said that: "For the Jews, there was light, joy, gladness, and honor," in the simplest sense, since a verse cannot be divorced from its plain meaning, but also according to the profound meaning expounded by our Sages*: "Light — this is the Torah*..." May Hashem therefore grant that you continue this study, within the study of our holy Torah*, Torah* of life, in its entirety.

You will therefore have light, joy, gladness, and honor, in the most literal sense and according to all the commentaries that can be given, in the material and spiritual domains alike. It will be so by always advancing, by shining ever more strongly, through "the candle (which) is a Mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," as well as through the luminary of the Torah*, which is its profound dimension. In these last generations, it has been revealed by the teaching of Chassidus*. Moreover, this year is special, since it marks the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of its founder, our master the Baal Shem Tov*. With my blessing for considerable success and for giving good tidings of all this,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבם, וכבקשתם אזכירם על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר להצלחה בלימודם, לימוד המביא לידי מעשה, בעושה ומעשה.

ובעמדנו למחרת יום הפורים, שעל זה נאמר ליהודים היתה אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר, כפשוטו שהרי אין מקרא יוצא מידי פשוטו, וגם בפנימיות הדברים כדרשת רז"ל אורה זו תורה וכו', יהי רצון שימשיכו בלימודם זה בתוך כללות לימודם בתורתנו הק' תורת חיים, אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר כפשוטו וכמשמעו בכל הענינים הגשמיים והרוחניים גם יחד, ובאופן דמוסיף והולך מוסיף ואור בנר מצוה ותורה אור ובמאור שבתורה זו פנימיות התורה, שבדורות האחרונים נתגלתה בתורת החסידות, ובפרט ששנה זו היא שנת סגולה, שנת המאתים להסתלקות-הילולא של מייסדה מורנו הבעש"ט ז"ל.
