To the leaders of the educational institution based on sacred values, Ohalei Torah*, in Brooklyn, New York, and, at their head, to the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rav Michael (note 1: Rav M. Teitelbaum. See, regarding him, letters no. 680, 702, and 6485), may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

You informed me that your festive dinner (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 7243) is to take place on the coming 6 Nissan*, and here is my response. May Hashem grant that the preparations and hence the consequences of this important undertaking receive considerable success, enabling you to obtain effective assistance to strengthen the institution Ohalei Torah* and to develop it, both quantitatively and qualitatively. I have already emphasized the propitious character of this year, which marks the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of the Baal Shem Tov*, and it is known that he himself began his work, even before his revelation, in the domain of education.

Moreover, the Baal Shem Tov* devoted himself to the education of the youngest children. He taught them Amen Yehei Shmei Rabba* (note 3: The response to the Kaddish*), Barechu* (note 4: Before the blessings of Shema Yisrael*), the Kedushah* (note 5: During the Amidah*), as my father-in-law, the Rebbe, related on many occasions, emphasizing the importance of providing an education based on sacred values. Great is the merit of each one who participates in strengthening and developing an educational institution based on sacred values, Ohalei Torah* being located in Brooklyn. No doubt they will redouble their ardor in this matter, for our Sages* rule that "one must know elevation in the domain of holiness" and "to whoever adds (note 6: An effort to serve Hashem), there is added (note 7: Blessings and spiritual forces)" in all domains of good, material and spiritual alike. With my blessing,

במענה להודעתם ע"ד חגיגת הדינער המיועד ליום ו' בניסן הבע"ל.

יהי רצון שההכנות וממילא גם התוצאות של מפעל חשוב זה יהיו בהצלחה מופלגה, להרים עזר ממשי לביסוס המוסד "אהלי תורה" והרחבתו, בכמות ובאיכות גם יחד.

כבר מלתי אמורה בענין סגולת שנה זו, שנת המאתיים להסתלקות-הילולא של הבעל שם טוב זי"ע, מייסד תורת החסידות הכללית. וידוע כי ראשית עבודת הבעש"ט, עוד טרם התגלותו, היתה בשטח החינוך, בפרט בחינוך ילדי ישראל הקטנים ביותר, ללמדם איהש"ר ברכו וקדושה וכו', וכמו שסיפר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר עד"ז כמה פעמים והפליג בעבודת החינוך על טהרת הקדש.

ואשרי זכותו של כל אחד ואחת מהמשתתפים בהחזקת והרחבת המוסד חינוך על טהרת הקדש "אהלי תורה" אשר בברוקלין, ובודאי יוסיפו אומץ בזה, כפסק רז"ל מעלין בקדש, וכל המוסיף מוסיפין לי' בכל מילי דמיטב בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
