To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and assumes a sacred mission, the Rav Shmuel (note 1: Rav Sh. Chefer, of Bnei Brak. See, regarding him, letters no. 5891 and 7401),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 9 Nissan*. I took note therein, with pleasure, of your plan to gather the students of the schools of your region, on the occasion of the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of the Baal Shem Tov*. On this occasion, you are also thinking of songs and, of course, you will ensure that these are sung only by the children and the men. Regarding the separation (note 2: Between the boys and the girls), it would be good, insofar as it is possible, to gather the boys and the girls at the same time. In this way, such a separation will attract attention (note 3: And one will thereby learn of its necessity). On the other hand, if it is not possible to ensure it, or even if there is a doubt on this point, particularly regarding the songs, there will be no choice and one will have to consider two separate gatherings.

You ask me what should be distributed as a gift during the gathering. Your request for pamphlets containing the prayers of Minchah* and Maariv* has been transmitted to the Merkaz LeInyonei Chinuch*. Perhaps it would also be good to translate into Hebrew (note 4: In order to distribute it at this gathering) the talk (note 5: See, on this subject, letter no. 5633) that was delivered here for the Gan Yisrael* (note 6: The summer camp organized for children in the United States). This is suited to students of this age and it contains words of all our masters. At a propitious moment, I will mention all those you cite near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, so that they obtain the satisfaction of their needs. May Hashem grant that you give me good tidings of all this. With my blessing for a kosher and joyous Pesach* festival, for you and for your family, whom Hashem will grant long days and good years, as well as for giving good tidings,

נעם לי לקרות בו מההצעה לערוך כנוס של תלמידי ביה"ס במחוז שלו בקשר לשנת המאתים להסתלקות הילולא של הבעש"ט.

ומובן שכיון שמוזכר בזה גם נגינה, צריך להבטיח (באווארענען) שתהי' רק ע"י הילדים והגברים לבד, וק"ל.

בהנוגע להפרדה, הרי באם שזה אפשרי, כדאי לעשות הכנוס בבת אחת לילדים ולילדות, בכדי שיובלט ענין ההפרדה, אבל פשוט באם אי אפשר להבטיח ההפרדה או ספק אפילו, ועוד יותר ענין הנגינה, הרי אין ברירה וצ"ל התנאי דאי אפשר בלא"ה - שיהי' שני כנוסים.

במ"ש אודות חילוק בתור מתנה, - נמסר להמל"ח ע"ד הקונטרס מנחה מעריב, ואולי כדאי להעתיק השיחה דבגן ישראל כאן ללה"ק, שמתאימה להתלמידים-ות מגיל הנ"ל, והרי באו בה פתגמים מכל נשיאינו.

בעת רצון יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע להמצטרך להם, ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור.
