To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Ben Tzion (note 1: Rav B. Shem Tov, of London. See, regarding him, letter no. 5304),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 25 Nissan* and, finding myself this day (note 2: On the occasion of the eve of Rosh Chodesh* and the "small Yom Kippur*") near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, I mentioned the name of your wife, whom Hashem will grant long days and good years, so that she obtain a speedy and complete recovery. I also cited yours, in accordance with what you write to me.

We are at the end and conclusion of the month of Nissan*, the month of redemption, on the eve of Rosh Chodesh* Iyar*, the month of radiance. It will therefore be so both in your communal achievements and in your personal concerns. You will give me good tidings of this, of a visible and tangible good, in calm, joy, and enthusiasm. Is there anything that Hashem cannot do? Nevertheless, as our Sages* emphasize, may Hashem grant that this be accomplished in kindness and mercy, in infinite compassion and revealed beneficence. Indeed, this year marks the bicentennial of the Hilloula* of the Baal Shem Tov* and the eightieth year since the birth of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, here below. It is unnecessary to specify how propitious these days, these weeks, these months, this year are, provided one makes full use of them. In accordance with the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe (note 3: See, in particular, on this subject, letter no. 6975), one will take advantage of this not to obtain pearled barley in the soup, but rather to string a necklace of pearls around the neck (note 4: By seeking from the outset the most elevated accomplishment).

ובהיותי היום על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, הזכרתי את זוגתו שתליט"א לרפו"ק ולרפו"ש וגם אותו, מתאים לתוכן כתבו.

ויהי רצון, שכיון שנמצאים אנו בחותם וסיום חדש ניסן הוא חדש הגאולה וערב ראש חדש אייר הוא חדש זיו, הרי יהי' כן בענינים הכללים והפרטים גם יחד, ויבשר טוב בטוב הנראה והנגלה מתוך מנוחה שמחה וטוב לבב, והרי היפלא ממנו (מהשי"ת) כל דבר, אלא שע"פ הוראת רבותינו נשיאינו יהא נעשה זה בחסד וברחמים, רחמים פשוטים וחסדים גלוים, והרי השנה היא שנת המאתים להסתלקות הילולא של הבעש"ט ז"ל, ושנת השמונים להולדת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בעלמא דין, אשר אין צורך ביאור סגולת ימים שבועות וחדשים ושנה זו, ובלבד שינצלום במילואם, וכפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ינצלום ניט אויף פערל גרופען אין זופ, נאר אוף שנירלעך פערל (מרגליות) אויפן האלז.
