By the grace of Hashem,

13 Sivan* 5720,

Brooklyn,

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter (note 1: A single letter was addressed to several people). May Hashem grant that you announce good tidings to me of all that you write, of a visible and tangible good. In accordance with the well-known saying (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 5995) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, the Holy One, blessed be He, grants material goods to His people, the children of Israel, because they can transform them into spirituality and because they effectively do so.

And you know the teaching of the one whose Hilloula* we celebrate (note 3: On Shavuos*, the Baal Shem Tov*), regarding the verse: "When you see the donkey of your enemy bowing under its burden and you wish to turn away from him, you shall surely help him" — emphasizing the necessity of serving Hashem with matter, with the body and all that pertains to it. With my blessing to give good tidings, including of the influence you will exercise in this direction among those around you,

ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל הענינים שכותב - בטוב הנראה והנגלה, וכפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הידוע, שכשנותן הקב"ה לעמו בני ישראל גשמיות, ביכולתם להראות ומראים בפועל איך שמהפכים את הגשמיות לרוחניות.

והרי פתגם רבותינו נשיאינו, הוא גם נתינת כח, ובפרט שיום מתן תורה הוא גם יום ההילולא של מורנו הבעש"ט ז"ל, ובשנה זו - הילולא המאתים וביום הרביעי בשבוע (כבעת ההסתלקות) בו ניטלו וגם ניתלו המאורות.

וידועה תורת בעל ההילולא על הכתוב כי תראה חמור וגו' עזוב תעזוב עמו, לעבוד את השי"ת עם החומר, עם הגוף ועניניו.

בברכה לבשו"ט ובזה גם ע"ד השפעתו בסביבתו בכיוון הנ"ל.
