To the young man Chaim Zusya (note 1: Rav Ch. Z. Fischman, of Providence),

I greet you and bless you,

You ask me about the following statement of our Sages*: "If one added honey to it..." (note 2: To the incense offering, it would be disqualified) "And why..." (note 3: Does one not mix honey into it?) "Because..." (note 4: The Torah* says: "All leaven and all honey, you shall not offer as a fire-offering to Hashem"). You will find its explanation in the Toras Kohanim* on this verse, which is cited by the Tosafos*, on tractate Kerisus* 6a.
