To the participants of the Bar Mitzvah* celebration, in Azur, near Tel Aviv, may Hashem grant you a good life,

I greet you and bless you,

I received with pleasure your letter, signed by all the participants. At a propitious moment, I mentioned your names at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*. May Hashem grant that you give me good tidings, that you be able to intensify your dissemination of Judaism, in good health, in calm and joy, with Chassidic* enthusiasm, as emphasized by the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov*, the remembrance of whose bicentennial of passing comes to mind each day, in this propitious year.

The purpose of such a remembrance is the concrete expression that follows from it, which is essential — not only within the four cubits of each person, but also in one's broadest surroundings, in accordance with the great principle of the Torah*: "Love your fellow as yourself." Moreover, the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov* emphasizes and comments at length on this idea, in particular in the commentaries of Chabad* Chassidus*, for the love of Israel, the love of the Torah* and the love of Hashem are one. בנועם קבלתי מכתבם, חתום על ידי המשתתפים, ובעת רצון הזכרתים על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ויהי רצון שיבשרו טוב, ויוכלו להוסיף בהפצת היהדות מתוך בריאות הנכונה ומתוך מנוחה ושמחה וחיות חסידותית, כמודגש בתורת הבעל שם טוב ז"ל, אשר זכרון שנת המאתים להסתלקותו עולה לפנינו בכל יום ויום דשנת סגולה זו.

והרי המכוון שבזכרון כגון דא הוא שיתבטא במעשה הוא העיקר, ולא רק בד' אמות של כל אחד ואחד, אלא בסביבה הכי רחבה, על פי כלל גדול שבתורה ואהבת לרעך כמוך, ובפרט על פי ההדגשה וביאור ענין זה בארוכה בתורת הבעל שם טוב וביחוד בתורת החב"ד, שאהבת ישראל אהבת התורה ואהבת ה' חד הוא.
