By the grace of Hashem,
27 Elul* 5720,
Brooklyn,
To the leaders of the association of Yeshivah* students,
may Hashem grant you long life,
I greet you and bless you,
I duly received your letter of the eve of Shabbos* 24 Elul*, with the report that accompanied it. In these days of Selichos* and mercy, may Hashem grant that the compassion be great and that it be revealed here below. You will know success in your actions, whose central point is the building for Him of a dwelling here below, down to the lowest, most inferior point, as the Tanya* explains in chapter 36.
The initial letters of the words composing your name form the word Atah*, "You." May Hashem therefore grant that the words of the verse be fulfilled: "You, You are Hashem alone," as the Chassidic* discourse delivered this past Shabbos* explains. For this word designates the Essence of Hashem and His Name is present in the mouth of all. With my blessing of success and that each of you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

ויהי רצון שבעמדנו בימי הסליחות והרחמים שרחמים רבים הם ונמשכים עד למטה, כן יצליחו בפעולותיהם אשר הנקודה הפנימית ה"ה לעשות לו ית' דירה בתחתונים, דמטה מטה, וכמבואר בתניא פרק ל"ו שאין תחתון למטה ממנו וכו'.
ויהי רצון שכשמם יהי' הענין ד"אתה" ע"ד הכתוב אתה הוא ה' לבדך וכמו שנתבאר במאמר דשבת העבר, דקאי על עצמותו ומהותו ית' שם שמים שגור בפי כל.
