To the young man, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and carries out a sacred mission (note 1: That of teaching based on sacred values), the Rav Yitzchak (note 2: Rav I. Yadgar, of Taanach. See, regarding him, letter no. 6691),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 22 Shevat*, in which you share with me what you have heard, which is based on verses and allusions (note 3: Presumably a prediction of the coming of Moshiach*). In general, there is no reason to engage in such calculations, which concern only those who have received a tradition in this matter, but not others. Indeed, all have faith in the coming of Moshiach* and it is said: "I will await his coming every day." Nevertheless, each person is obligated to do everything in his power for the purpose of hastening and precipitating the coming of our righteous Moshiach*. This is possible, in particular, through the dissemination of the wellsprings (note 4: Of Chassidus*) outward. For, one knows the holy epistle of the Baal Shem Tov*, to whom King Moshiach* responded (note 5: When he asked him: "When will you come?"): "When your wellsprings spread outward."

At a propitious moment, your name will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, in accordance with what you write to me. I am surprised that you say nothing of the Hilula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel, celebrated on 10 Shevat*, but I have good hope that a Chassidic* farbrengen* indeed took place on that date and that it will have consequences, as explained in the letter of the one whose Hilula* we commemorate, regarding that of his father, the Rebbe Rashab* (note 6: See, on this subject, letter no. 7558). במענה למכתבו מכ"ב שבט, בו כותב מה ששמע ומסתמכים בפסוקים ורמזים כו'.

הנה בכלל - אין להכנס בחשבונות האמורים שענין בזה רק לאלו שיש בידם איזה מסורה וכיו"ב. משא"כ בלאו הכי - הרי כל אחד ואחד מאמין בביאת משיח וכו' ואחכה לו בכל יום שיבוא. אלא שביחד עם זה - על כל אחד לעשות כל התלוי בו למהר ולהחיש ביאת משיח צדקנו. ובפרט - הוא ע"י הפצת המעינות חוצה, כידוע אגרת הקודש של הבעש"ט מענת מלכא משיחא - לכשיפוצו מעינותיך חוצה קאתי.

בעת רצון יזכירוהו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, מתאים לתוכן כתבו.

ולפלא שאינו מזכיר ע"ד יום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל בעשירי בשבט, אף שתקותי חזקה שהתועדו וגם תהי' תוצאות כמפורש במכתב בעל ההילולא ליום ההילולא של כ"ק אביו אדמו"ר מהורש"ב נ"ע.
