I am very surprised and a little pained that you say nothing to me, in your letter, about the actions you are undertaking in order to disseminate the wellsprings (note 1: Of Chassidus*) outward. I specify "a little," for I hope that you are indeed undertaking such actions. But, concretely, not reporting it has a negative effect (note 2: One more easily reduces one's activity when one has no one to whom to give an account), as one can verify in practice. May Hashem grant that in this matter as well you announce good tidings to me. However, in such a case, the true good, according to the Shulchan Aruch*, is not only the action itself. It is necessary, furthermore, that this action be commensurate with what is expected.

... לפלא גדול וקצת מצער מה שאינו מזכיר במכתבו אודות פעולותיו בהפצת המעינות חוצה, והביטוי קצת, מפני שהתקוה שפועל בזה, ומ"מ העדר הידיעה עכ"פ גורע בהפועל, כנראה במוחש. ויהי רצון שגם בזה יבשר טוב, והרי עפ"י שו"ע - טוב האמיתי בכגון זה, לא רק עביד סתם, כי אם כמאן דבעי למיעבד.
