By the grace of Hashem,

10 Nissan* 5721,

Brooklyn,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 22 Adar*, which I have just received. You describe to me the ailment of your wife. One may think that not all the Mezuzos* (note 1: Of the house) are yet in conformity, or that they are not placed in the fitting manner. In any event, let her forget her dreams, which have no significance. Our Sages* say, indeed, that "dreams bring nothing and change nothing."

She will therefore strengthen her conduct based on the teachings of our Torah*, Torah* of life, and on the practice of its Mitzvos*, concerning which it is said: "One shall live by them." May Hashem grant you the success of positively fulfilling the wish of your heart (note 2: Presumably that of having a child). The more you strengthen your trust in Hashem and this conduct, the more you will multiply His blessings. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,

במענה למכתבו מכ"ב אדר שנתקבל ז"ע, בו כותב אודות המיחוש של זוגתו תחי'.

ויש מקום לומר שעדיין אין כל המזוזות כשרות או שהוקבעו שלא כדין, ובכל אופן תסיח דעתה לגמרי מהחלומות כי אין בהם ממש, וכמאמר חכמינו ז"ל חלומות לא מעלין ולא מורידין ותתחזק בהנהגה מתאימה להוראות תורתנו תורת חיים ובקיום מצותי' עליהן נאמר וחי בהם והשי"ת יצליחם למילוי משאלות לבבם לטובה, וככל שיתוסף בבטחון בהשי"ת ובהנהגה האמורה יתוסף בהברכה.
