Volume 20 · Letter 222 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu et se consacre aux

By the grace of Hashem,

11 Sivan* 5721,

Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Yechezkel Issachar (note 1: Rav Y. I. Springer, of Kfar Chabad*. See, regarding him, letter no. 7086),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 5 Sivan*, as well as the one that preceded it. May Hashem grant that you be in a position to announce to me good tidings, both personally and communally, since these two domains go hand in hand. You will also tell me that you have received the blessing of Hashem concerning yourself and that it has been increased through your communal participation, since you and your friends have the merit of strengthening and developing the Kfar (note 2: Kfar Chabad*), founded and directed by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel. From time to time, your name is mentioned near his holy resting place, along with all the directors of the Kfar and those who seek its good, so that you may know great success in the direction of the Kfar, as well as immense success in your personal concerns. May Hashem grant that all of this be accomplished in a pleasant and peaceful manner, but with all the necessary determination.

We are in the days of completion of the time of the giving of our Torah*, of which it is said: "Its ways are ways of pleasantness and all its paths are peace." It establishes peace in the world and it is simultaneously a Torah* of truth, which brings to light the truth of all things, which illuminates it, for it is a "Torah* of light." It delivers clear teachings that one must fully put into practice in the fitting manner, being of the same etymology as Hora'ah*, teaching. Commenting on these two points (note 3: The Torah* of light and the Torah* delivering a teaching), Chassidus* explains at length that, in this way, the Wisdom and the Will of the Holy One, blessed be He, are expressed. With my blessing to give good tidings of all this,
