By the grace of Hashem,

15 Sivan* 5721,

Brooklyn,

I bless you and greet you (note 1: This letter is addressed to a woman),

I duly received your letter of 21 Iyar*. At a propitious moment, I will mention your name and that of your son near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. In place of the pain and the sorrow, may Hashem add blessings in all your needs, among all the children of Israel who find themselves, at present, in all the places of exile. Soon, they will merit the fulfillment of all the promises, so that: "And you will say, on that day: I thank You, Hashem, for You have chastised me. Your anger will subside and You will console me." A verse cannot be deprived of its simple meaning. One must conclude that one will thank Hashem also for the chastisements (note 2: For one will then understand their positive dimension), even if, at the present time, one does not understand this through one's logic. Nevertheless, how could the intellect attack and rise against the pure faith animating every Jew, who is a "believer, child of a believer"?

I enclose an excerpt of what was said to the Chabad* young women (note 3: See the Likkutei Sichos*, volume 2, page 550). Of course, these words concern all Jewish women and young women — how much more the descendants of the most senior Chabad* Chassidim*. With my blessing to give good tidings,

ובעת רצון אזכירה ואת בנה שי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אשר תמורת הצער ועגמ"נ יוסיף ה' ברכות בכל המצטרך להם ובתכ"י הנמצאים לע"ע בכל מקום שהם בגלות יזכו בקרוב לקיום היעודים (ועד [ש]יהי' המצב באופן, ד)ואמרת ביום ההוא אודך ה' כי אנפת בי, ישוב אפך ותנחמני, והרי אין מקרא יוצא מידי פשוטו, שההודאה היא גם על ה"אנפת" אף שלע"ע אין הבנה בזה בשכל, אבל מה לשכל כי ירצה להאבק ולהתקומם נגד האמונה הפשוטה של כאו"א מבני ישראל מאמינים בני מאמינים.
