Igrot Kodesh · Letter 7708 — Tzedakah

Volume 20 · Letter 265 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu et se consacre

By the grace of Hashem,

21 Tammuz* 5721,

Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Shaul (note 1: Rav S. Shifrin, of San Francisco. See, regarding him, letter no. 4987),

I greet you and bless you,

I learned with pleasure, through the organizing committee, that you held a Chassidic* gathering on the occasion of the propitious days of the liberation of the 12th and 13th of Tammuz*, that of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, leader of Israel. On this occasion, words of Torah* were spoken, a Chassidic* discourse was recited, and words of encouragement were said. May Hashem grant that for yet very many years, you participate in organizing such Chassidic* gatherings, from which one will draw, since that is their purpose, the motivation for the entire year, in order to act in all the domains of Judaism, of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, with joy and enthusiasm, as well as with Chassidic* warmth.

One can observe (note 2: By drawing the lesson from the liberation of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, as one must do in such a Chassidic* gathering) that a single person, as soon as he is truly motivated and puts into practice what has just been set forth, can achieve success in every city and in every country where he finds himself, all the more so since some come to his aid, which increases his success proportionally. I greet all those who participated in this Chassidic* gathering and I address my blessing that, within all of Israel, we merit to witness the imminent fulfillment of the promise, stated by the prophet Zechariah* in the Name of Hashem, in the verse Zechariah* 8:19, according to which "the fast of the fourth month (note 3: The 17th of Tammuz*)... will be, for the house of Yehudah*, gladness, joy, and festival." With my blessing to give good tidings,

P.S.: I enclose some of the latest publications, whose content applies throughout the year.
