By the grace of Hashem,

1st Elul* 5721,

Brooklyn,

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 25 Menachem Av*. I read therein, with pleasure, that the medications have been useful to you. May Hashem grant that they bring you a prompt and complete recovery. You ask me how you should repay your debt (note 1: Toward the Rebbe*, who granted his blessing to the addressee of this letter). For this, you will disseminate traditional Judaism in your surroundings and in every place where your influence extends. For, it is in this way that each person, within all of Israel, can discharge his profound debt.

Our Sages* emphasize, indeed, that "I was created to serve my Creator," which clearly means that each person can attain this, for "the Holy One, blessed be He, does not act with guile toward His creatures" (note 2: By asking of them what they are not capable of doing). With my blessing to give good tidings of all this and to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

מאשרים קבלת מכתבו מכ"ה מנחם אב,

ונעם לי לקרות בו אשר סממני הרפואה הביאו תועלת, ויהי רצון שיביאו לרפואה קרובה וגם שלימה.

לכתבו איך עליו לפרוע חובו - הנה הוא על ידי הפצת היהדות המסורתית בסביבתו ובכל מקום שידו מגעת והרי זהו מילוי החוב הפנימי של כאו"א בתכ"י, וכדברי חז"ל אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני.

שמזה גם מובן שביכולת כאו"א הוא, שהרי אין הקב"ה בא בטרוניא עם בריותיו.
