By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 27 Menachem Av*. At a propitious moment, your name will be mentioned near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, in conformity with what you write to me.

It is said: "I have given my daughter to this man" and may Hashem therefore grant that it be concretely so — "I have given" willingly, "to this man" who is important and righteous, as the verse Shemos* 2:1 and the Zohar*, volume 1, at page 257a state. With my blessing to give good tidings and to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

P.S.: Everything is an effect of Divine Providence. I therefore have the obligation, which is also a merit, to underscore to you the necessity of setting a fixed time for the study of the profound part of the Torah*, which, in our era, has been revealed through Chassidus*, all the more so as you are a Kohen*.
