To the attention of the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

wise and discerning, having favorable character traits,

the Rav D. B. (note 2: Rav Dov Ber Chaskind. See, regarding him, letters no. 687 and 7801),

I greet you and bless you,

I hope that, in the interval that has elapsed since the last letter that you sent me, you have found a means of earning your livelihood. I would be happy if you would confirm this to me. You will also tell me whether the members of your family were able to join you and whether all is well. I feel pained observing that, in the letters addressed to us, the news concerning the state of health of my father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*, is reduced to its simplest expression. I therefore address myself to you, earnestly asking you to write to me in detail on this subject. You will describe the situation as it truly is. I am persuaded that you will accede to my request and I therefore say no more. In advance, I thank you warmly.

Without a doubt, the talks of my father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*, are currently being transcribed in your city. Perhaps it is possible to send me a copy here, as well as the text of what he said regarding the blessing of HaGomel* (note 3: The thanksgiving pronounced by one who benefits from a divine kindness) when you met at the port (note 4: See, on this subject, the Igros Kodesh* of the previous Rebbe*, volume 5, letter no. 1165, and the Sefer HaSichos* summer 5700, at page 1), and the description of what occurred during the festival of Pesach*. I conclude by wishing you all the best and in anticipation of your response on all of this, thanking you in advance,

אקוה, אשר במשך הזמן ממכתבו האחרון אלי הסתדר כבר בפרנסתו, ואשמח אם יודיעני אודות זה גם כן בפירוש. כן אם כבר גם בני ביתו יחיו נמצאים אתו עמו שלום.

יש לי עגמת נפש מזה, שמקמצים, בהמכתבים אלינו, בהידיעות אודות בריאות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א. והנני פונה בזה אליו, בבקשה רבה, לכתוב לי עד"ז בפרטיות, והמצב כמו שהוא באמת ומבטחוני חזק שלא ישיב בקשתי ריקם, איני מאריך בזה.

ותודתי חמה נתונה לו מראש.

בודאי עושים רשימות דברים מהשיחות של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א עתה במחנם. אולי ישנה אפשריות לשלוח לכאן אלי העתק מהן? כן רשימת מה שאמר על דבר ברכת הגומל בעת הפגישה בנמל? ופרשת ימי חה"פ?

אסיים באיווי כל טוב סלה ואשאר מחכה מכתבו מענה על כל הנ"ל ומודה למפרע על זה.
